God’s House

GOD KNOWS US

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am.” John 14:2-3 (NIV)

Your room is a safe place where you relax and recharge away from the outside world. Alone time is considered valuable to most, though some enjoy more alone time than others. Solitude enables self reflection. It is an opportunity to reconnect with God to listen in on He wants to share with you. A set aside time and place to meet God will help you discover who He created you to be. In your room, you can decorate and design it just the way you like because it is your space. You also can listen to music and dance because no one is watching…

The room Jesus has prepared for us in heaven is our true home. Once we arrive, we will be free to obsess over our interests and passions without fear of judgement. What we enjoy will be God-centered because we will be in His presence, at His house. The world will not be their to criticize our quirkiness. No longer will we have to pretend to delight in hobbies or activities that bore us. The artifacts in our room will reflect our genuine interests which have been shaped by our appreciation for true beauty. We will no longer be reaching out for shadows, but will possess tangible goodness. Darkness will no longer deceive and rob of true joy. Aimlessly copying other people is unauthentic and a waste of time. In God’s house, we will be appreciated for who we are.

“O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways.” Psalms 139:1-3 (KJV)

God’s knowledge and insight of us is truly astounding. He sees everything we do, and still loves us regardless of our poor choices. So much of disappointment with God has to do with God not providing in the way we THINK is best. It is important to remember that God knows what will bring us true joy. After all, He made us out of nothing!
